With her blend of technical precision, emotional playing, and rich musical experience, EunChe Kim is recognized as a captivating violinist and a rising talent on the international classical music stage.
In the course of her musical career to date, EunChe has won numerous competitions with an international reputation. In 2014 she became the second prize winner (no first prize awarded) in the Ewha & Kyung Hyang Concours, won first prize in 2015 at the Segye Daily News Concours, and in 2016 was awarded second prize at the eighth Novosibirsk International Violin Competition along with a special prize. In summer 2017 she won third prize at the 24th Johannes Brahms International Competition, and in April 2022 she was awarded third prize at the Carl Nielsen Competition in Odense. She took first prize in the ArsClassica International Competition for Violin and Piano in 2023 and won first prize at the Carl Flesch Competition in Mosonmagyaróvár with three special prizes in the same year. In 2021 she was awarded the Sternbrügger Prize, and in 2024 the Werner Stiefel Prize and the Brahms Prize at the Carl Flesch Academy, further solidifying her reputation as an exceptional musician.
As a soloist she has performed with prestigious orchestras worldwide, including the Seongnam Symphony Orchestra, Venusto Symphony Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Gwacheon Symphony Orchestra, the City of Lviv Symphony Orchestra, Baden-Baden Philharmonie, Odense Symphony Orchestra, Gangneung Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Philharmonic, Savaria Symphony Orchestra, Hungarian State Opera Orchestra, Hungarian Radio Orchestra and the Anima Musica Chamber Orchestra.
Also a passionate chamber musician, EunChe has collaborated with distinguished musicians at festivals and academies including the Krzyżowa Music Festival, Gstaad Menuhin Festival & Akademie, Kammermusik Akademie Hohenstaufen, the “Classy Sundays” concert series, Chamber Music Academy Nitzow, and the Szent Gellért Festival. She is a member of the Confringo Piano Quartet, winner of the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb and the Hans Gál Prize, with which she continues to explore the depths of chamber music. Her artistry has been shaped by masterclasses with renowned pedagogues and performers including Boris Kuschnir, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Mihaela Martin, Ana Chumachenko, Leonidas Kavakos, Kirill Troussov, Dora Schwarzberg, György Pauk, Barnabás Kelemen, and Vadim Gluzman.
EunChe is currently studying at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin, pursuing her Master’s degree under the guidance of Prof. Ulf Wallin, having completed her Bachelor degree with Prof. Kolja Blacher at the same institution. She plays on an Enrico Rocca violin of 1885.
