About Classical Sessions

Castlegregory Chamber Music Festival 2025.

Classical Sessions Chamber Music Festival was founded in 2025 by four musicians united by a shared vision: to create an intimate festival where world-class artistry, meaningful collaboration, and the extraordinary beauty of the Dingle Peninsula come together to inspire unforgettable musical experiences.

At the heart of the festival are Hannah Ishizaki, Nathan Meltzer, and brothers Martin and Patrick Moriarty, whose collective experience as internationally acclaimed performers and chamber musicians shapes the festival’s distinctive artistic identity.

Composer and artistic collaborator Hannah Ishizaki is celebrated for her expressive musicianship, creative curiosity, and commitment to both the traditional and contemporary chamber music repertoire. Nathan Meltzer, one of the most exciting violinists of his generation, has earned international recognition for his compelling performances as both a soloist and chamber musician, appearing with leading orchestras and at renowned festivals around the world.

Brothers Martin and Patrick Moriarty, whose family roots lie in the West Kerry communities of Brandon and Cloghane, have each built successful international careers as musicians. Inspired by their deep connection to the area, they envisioned bringing an international chamber music festival to this remarkable part of Ireland, creating opportunities for artistic exchange while celebrating the unique character, heritage, and hospitality of the local community.

Together, the four founders have established Classical Sessions as a festival where internationally renowned artists and emerging musicians perform side by side in an atmosphere of collaboration, discovery, and friendship. Centred in the communities of Brandon, Cloghane, and Castlegregory, the festival transforms local community spaces into intimate concert venues, inviting audiences to experience exceptional chamber music against the spectacular backdrop of the Dingle Peninsula.

Rooted in place while international in outlook, Classical Sessions celebrates not only the richness of the chamber music tradition but also the enduring connection between music, landscape, and community.
