Collide

Hannah Ishizaki (b. 1999)
String quartet 10′

Hannah Ishizaki's second appearance on the programme is Collide, a ten-minute quartet written in 2024 for the Grammy-winning Attacca Quartet and premiered at Princeton. True to its title, the piece stages controlled collisions, of textures, tempos and physical bowing gestures, reflecting her fascination with the athleticism of string playing. There is no recording out in the world yet; this is music you catch live or not at all.
