Gregory's Garden
Read this first: Gregory's Garden is closed. Its own website says the restaurant is closed for renovations until further notice and is not taking bookings. Listings elsewhere still show it open with daily hours, and they are wrong. Forge Wood Fired Pizza continues to trade in the garden behind it.
When open, it is a restaurant on Main Street in a restored nineteenth-century cottage with a large productive organic garden behind, raised beds and fruit trees and vines trained along the back wall, growing fruit, vegetables and herbs for the kitchen and doubling as outdoor dining. It was established in 2015 by the chef Greg O'Mahoney and his wife Emily, and Greg had been head chef at the Milesian along the street before opening his own place.
It began as a café and deli doing sandwiches, salads and Ariosa coffee, and moved up to what it calls semi-fine dining with Irish and Basque influences: calamari, chargrilled Atlantic prawns, seared hake, flat iron steak, Brandon Bay lobster.
