SPAR Castlegregory
This is the village shop, and functionally the village's convenience hub. It is a SPAR, and it is also Lynch's Country Store, which is what people here call it. It opened in July 1992, so it is a long-established family business rather than a recent chain arrival, and it sits on Strand Street on the road running down towards the beach, directly on the route most visitors take.
For anyone staying in the caravan parks, the campsites or a self-catering house, this is where you buy the groceries. For anyone walking the Dingle Way, it is where you stock up. The deli counter is the part that matters most to a visitor: it is the main source of hot food and made-to-order sandwiches during the day, which is useful given that the takeaway is an evening business. There is a fresh meat counter, which a forecourt shop would not have, and an off-licence with a good local reputation.

This is where you get cash in Castlegregory. The post office inside the shop will hand over up to a thousand euro, and the cash machine will give you up to two hundred. There is no bank in the village.
