Pisces Restaurant
Pisces is the village seafood restaurant, on Strand Road on the way down towards the beach, and it is the best reviewed place to eat in Castlegregory by a distance. Its own description is a family-based restaurant working with Irish and local ingredients, fish delivered daily by local fishmongers, and soups, sauces and breads made in the kitchen. There is a children's menu and a wine list, and they take small weddings and other occasions.
What people talk about is the fish and the size of the plates. Scallops, crab claws, calamari, scampi, hake, mussels, prawn linguine, crab tagliatelle and crab cakes all come up repeatedly in accounts from the last two years. Portions are large enough that more than one visitor has asked for half the plate at three quarters of the price.
There is parking immediately beside it, which in this village is worth knowing.
On the menu
Pisces publishes no menu online, and several sites that appear to carry one are automatically generated and worthless. Ring for the day's fish. For an idea of the bill, a party of five ate three starters, five main courses and a bottle of wine for a hundred and twenty five euro, although that was in 2018.

Good to know
Be careful with the phone number. Some listings give 066 713 9741 for the Milesian, which is wrong: that number is Pisces. The two restaurants are about four hundred metres apart.
There is no working website. Any address you find at piscescastlegregory.com is dead, and the site listed against Pisces on the village directory belongs to a web designer.
