The Beach Box
Three businesses in one small shop on Tailors Row, and the combination is aimed squarely at people staying in the caravan parks, the campsites and the self-catering houses around Brandon Bay. Keith and Justine run it.
The shop side sells gifts and toys along with work by local artists, pottery, paintings and jewellery. The launderette offers a same-day service, with dry cleaning and ironing as well, which is the sort of thing that is very hard to find on this coast and worth knowing about before you need it.
The bicycle hire is the third strand: bikes to suit all ages including mountain bikes for teenagers and adults, at fifteen euro a day with discounts for longer, and route maps supplied with the bike. Castlegregory is flat and the lanes out to the Maharees are quiet, so this is a genuinely good way to spend a day here.

Good to know
A second directory gives quite different opening hours, with the shop closed on Mondays and Thursdays. Ring before making a special trip, particularly out of season.
